For the first quarter of 2015, the Philippine Embassy successfully conducted its first mobile missions in Perth on 15 – 17 January and Melbourne on 19 – 22 March 2015, servicing a total of 2,009 individuals.
In a gesture of solidarity with the world’s women, the Philippine Embassy’s lady officers and employees attended the International Women’s Day (IWD) Lunch organized by UN Women Australia at the National Convention Centre on 5 March 2015.
The Philippine Embassy participated at the three-day 2015 National Multicultural Festival in Canberra on 13-15 February 2015 to promote the Philippines. Embassies and High Commissions including the Philippines were allotted a one-day display stall on Saturday, 14 February 2015.
In efforts to better understand and respond to human trafficking cases, the Philippine Embassy invited Sr. Angela Reed, RSM, and Mrs. Marietta Latonio as guest speakers on the topic “Understanding Trafficking as Exploiting Vulnerability: Giving Voice to Filipino Trafficked Women.”
The Embassy of the Philippines in Canberra wishes to inform all registered voters who filed their applications for registration from 2009 to 2012 that their respective Voters' IDs are now available and may be picked up from the Embassy either personally or through their authorized representative.
