Frequently Asked Questions on Consular Services

Please click this link to access the Online Visa Application System (OVAS) - https://www.visa.gov.ph. Once the application is submitted, the applicant will receive a visa application receipt confirmation. This is only the initial procedure and does not mean that the visa is being processed. The applicant will then contact the Embassy’s Visa Section for the next steps, which may include submission of additional documentary requirements, the conduct of an interview, among others. The Temporary Visitor's Visa 9(a) has a three month validity and a period of stay for 59 days (for visa-free nationals under E.O. 408).

Please note that Foreign nationals who applied for a visa MUST NOT finalize travel itineraries until after receipt of visas. The Embassy will not be liable for any missed flights due to proximity of intended travel date.

In case of a temporary visitor’s visa holder whose stay in the Philippines will exceed the authorized period of stay, he/she will have to report to the Bureau of Immigration, secure an extension of stay and pay the corresponding immigration fees. Information on fees for extension of stay and other Immigration fees are available at the Bureau of Immigration website (https://immigration.gov.ph/).

The Affidavit of Support and Guarantee is an additional supporting document that MAY be asked for by Philippine Bureau of Immigration officials as they implement the Department of Justice’s Circular 036-2015 - Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) Revised Guidelines on Departure Formalities for International Bound Passengers. A sample form may be obtained here: https://www.philembassy.org.au/download.
