07 April 2021 (Canberra) – The ASEAN Women Heads of Mission in Canberra, H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Australia, and H.E. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Australia, co-hosted an afternoon reception for the Women Heads of Mission in Canberra (WoHOMA) to bid farewell to outgoing Dean of the WoHOMA, H.E. Jeanne Guehe, Ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire, and to provide a presentation on ASEAN Centrality and the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific. First Assistant Secretary Amanda Gorely of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade joined the event.
During the discussion, the Women Heads of Mission shared their perspectives on regional peace and security and opportunities for working together to address contemporary challenges.
This event coincided with the last day of the Philippines’ celebration of National Women’s Month 2021. END
