06 March 2025, MANILA - Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Antonio A. Morales called on the Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Hans Leo Cacdac on 19 February 2025 to discuss ongoing efforts and initiatives to safeguard the welfare and rights of OFWs in Australia, such as improving access to legal assistance and enhancing social protection measures.

With more than 400,000 Filipinos and Australians of Filipino descent making up the fifth-largest migrant community in Australia, ensuring the protection and well-being of OFWs remains a top priority for the Philippine government. The meeting underscored the commitment to enhancing support mechanisms, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and ensuring that bilateral agreements reflect the evolving needs of Filipino workers abroad. - END
