Balik-Scientist Webinar, 30 October
29 October 2021, CANBERRA – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of the Republic of the Philippines will host a webinar series on the Balik-Scientist Program beginning 30 October on the Balik-Scientist Facebook page.
The Balik Scientist Program offers a package of benefits to Filipinos, or foreigner of Filipino descent, who are experts or professionals in the field of science and technology with an outstanding contribution in his or her field of specialization. Under the program, a Balik Scientist shall conduct a work plan of activities, such as mentorship, lectures, and research and development, in coordination with a host institution in the Philippines. In response to the pandemic, the DOST designed remote alternative work arrangements for potential Balik Scientists.
The contributions of scientists and technology experts are crucial in the country’s pandemic response and post-pandemic recovery. Filipino scientists and engineers in Australia have participated in the Balik Scientist Program.
The first episode of the webinar series will be presented on 30 October, 12:00 noon. The schedule and themes for the succeeding episodes are as follows:
