Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr., Chief of Staff AFP (third from left), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ma. Hellen Barber De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia (fifth from left), at the Philippine Embassy in Canberra on 24 June 2019 to discuss the steadfast Philippines-Australia defence cooperation and political and security developments in the Philippines.

Gen. Madrigal was joined by his wife, Mrs. Maria Gemma Madrigal, MGen Cornelio Valencia, Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans J5, MGen Reuben S. Basiao, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence J2 and Col. Dennis Gammad, Philippine Defence and Armed Forces Attaché.

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines was in Canberra upon the invitation of General Angus Campbell, Chief of the Australian Defence Force.
