20 January 2023, CANBERRA – Consul General Aian A. Caringal together with the personnel of the Philippine Embassy cheered on the Philippine Cricket National Team in its game against the Queensland Bulls Cricket Team on 19 January 2023 at the Kingston Oval, Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

The National Team headed by their coach, Mr. Henry Tyler, travelled to ACT together with the Philippine Cricket Association (PCA) CEO, Mr. Faisal Khan, upon the invitation of Cricket ACT to play in the Australian Country Championship games from 15-20 January 2023. The team will be facing the representative cricket teams of Australia’s states and territories.

The PCA runs both the Men's and Women's National Teams in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 Tournaments. The Men's National Team, known as the Carabaos, holds the top 2 ranking in the ICC East Asia-Pacific Region, finishing next to Papua New Guinea at the T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifier in 2018. They are set to compete in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in May 2023. -END-
