10 March 2021 (Canberra) – H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Ambassador of the Philippines to Australia, met Senator the Hon Zed Seselja on 09 March at Parliament House. Senator Seselja is the Minister for International Development and the Pacific responsible for leading Australia’s development cooperation with other countries, in particular with Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

Ambassador De La Vega expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the Australian Government for the Philippines in support of Philippine development goals including technical assistance for health security. Senator Seselja noted the importance of the partnership of the Philippines and Australia in particular this year as the two countries commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He added that the Filipino diaspora has significant contributions to the growth of Australia. -- END
