28 September 2024, CANBERRA – The Philippine Embassy in Canberra Bowling Team secured its fourth consecutive championship at the 6th ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament held on 28 September 2024 at Zone Bowling Tuggeranong.

The team, composed of Career Minister and Consul General Mr. Aian Caringal, Mr. Rodrigo Gavino, Mr. Jeffrey T. De Mesa, Mr. Jessie Lucas, Mr. Alexander Castillon, and Mr. Arvin Martinez, along with reserves Mr. Lazaro de Luna, Mr. Rommel T. Quilang, and Mr. Edgar Canta, showcased their impressive skills and teamwork, continuing their unbeaten streak since 2019. Notably, Mr. Arvin Martinez of the Philippine Embassy was the second-highest scorer of the tournament.

The Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic finished in second place and the High Commission of Malaysia in third place. This was also the Philippine Embassy’s 5th championship in the tournament.

This year, the tournament was organized by the ASEAN Committee in Canberra under the chairmanship of the Philippine Embassy. The Philippine Embassy initially launched the ASEAN Family Bowling Tournament in 2017 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN.
