PH Embassy congratulates Filipino graduates of Defence Strategic Studies Course and Australian Command and Staff Course

14 December 2023, CANBERRA –The Embassy of the Philippines in Canberra congratulates the four (4) Filipino students from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of National Defense (DND) who have completed training in Australia under the Defence Cooperation Program (DCP).

The DSSC is a 47-week residential course for Australian senior military officers, foreign military students, and selected Australian Public Servants. The course prepares selected officers and officials for senior appointments in the national security environment. Meanwhile, the Australian Command and Staff Course (ACSC) is an 84-day (over 46 weeks) peer course. The ACSC core modules focus on strategy, planning, capability, command, leadership, and ethics in the context of whole-of-government domestic and regional operations. Both courses are conducted at the Australian War College (AWC), Australian Defence College (ADC), and Weston Creek, Australian Capital Territory.

The academic content is delivered in partnership with Deakin University and the course members attain a post-graduate qualification in public policy or strategic studies. LTC Alalay, LTC Cimini, and LCdr Guce attained the general average of Distinction.

Defense and security are pillar of the Strategic Partnership of the Philippines and Australia and training and education exchanges between our military personnel are crucial to the effective bilateral defense cooperation. -- END
