09 December 2021 – Thomasians in Australia officially launched the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Australia (USTAA) on 6 December 2021 at the Philippine Embassy in Canberra. Philippine Ambassador to Australia, H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, who is also a Thomasian, administered the oath of officers, in person and virtually, led by its President, Ms. Benjie Ubago.

In her address, Ambassador De La Vega mentioned that the timing to establish USTAA in 2021 was auspicious and meaningful as the Philippines is commemorating the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the PH and AU and the 500 years of Filipino Christianity.

UST is internationally-recognized as the oldest Pontifical, Royal, and Catholic University of the Philippines which was founded in 1611. END
