Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines and University of Adelaide Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on Higher Education and Research

10 December 2020, Canberra – Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) J. Prospero E. De Vera III, DPA and Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Adelaide Jacqueline Lo signed the Memorandum of Cooperation on Higher Education and Research during a virtual ceremony on 10 December 2020. The signing was witnessed by H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia, and H.E. Steven J. Robinson AO, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines. Representatives from Philippine Higher Education Institutions were also present during the signing ceremony.

This agreement provides the framework for cooperation between CHED and the University of Adelaide which will include promoting mobility of students, creating opportunities for training, professional development and capacity building and information-sharing mechanisms. It is part of CHED’s support for stronger internationalization of Philippine Higher Education Institutions to prepare the Filipino youth for the future of work.

The University of Adelaide is a member of the Group of Eight comprising Australia’s leading research-intensive universities and is ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide.

The Philippine Embassy in Canberra welcomes this agreement which strengthens education cooperation under the Philippines Australia Comprehensive Partnership and looks forward to its implementation in 2021 as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Philippines Australia Diplomatic Relations. END
