24 November 2025, CANBERRA – The Philippine Ambassador to Australia, H.E. Antonio A. Morales, met with the Hon. Tim Ayres, Minister for Industry and Innovation, Minister for Science, and Senator for New South Wales, at Parliament House to discuss strengthening trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the Philippines and Australia.

The Ambassador highlighted the strong contribution of the Filipino community to Australia, including Philippine investments in Australia’s renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

Ambassador Morales and Minister Ayres underscored the importance of working towards a more balanced and mutually beneficial trade relationship, building on robust two-way trade and growing investment flows.

They also highlighted the shared interest in promoting sustainable growth, innovation, and a resilient global supply chain and reaffirmed commitment to enhancing collaboration in strategic areas including renewable energy, critical minerals, infrastructure and emerging industries. They also discussed initiatives that support broader engagement in Southeast Asia under Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 and the Philippines’ 2026 ASEAN Chairmanship. - END
