The Philippine Embassy, in coordination with the Philippine Consulate in Sydney and Philippine Honorary Consulates in Brisbane and Perth, are closely monitoring the bushfire emergencies in parts of New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
While the Embassy has not received reports of Filipino nationals suffering injuries due to the fires to date, it is closely monitoring developments and communicating with the various agencies and Filipino community leaders in Australia to ascertain the safety and welfare of our kababayans.
Everyone is strongly advised to follow the instructions of their local authorities and to take all necessary precautions and recommended actions. Up-to-date information on the bushfire emergency is available on the Rural Fire Service websites of the above-mentioned states:
Filipinos may also contact the relevant Philippine Consulate with jurisdiction over their area if they have any information on Filipino nationals requiring assistance. The contact details can be found here: https://www.philembassy.org.au/offices/sydney-pcg-nsw.
