14 February 2025, CANBERRA – The Philippine Embassy, led by Ambassador Antonio A. Morales, proudly participated in the 2025 National Multicultural Festival (NMF) in Canberra, showcasing the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage at the ASEAN Village on 08 February 2024.

With the support of the Department of Tourism of the Philippines, the Embassy provided information on travel destinations and other activities for adventure seekers. At the Embassy’s booth, guests discovered “why there’s more to love the Philippines” through an immersive experience that highlighted the country’s vibrant festivals, traditional attire, and locally made products. Visitors received promotional items such as Philippine made products: pineapple juice and coco water, fridge magnets, cloth bags, and stickers featuring the Philippines’ iconic destinations and cultural symbols.

One of the booth’s main attractions was the photo booth, where guests had the opportunity to wear traditional Filipino attire and take home a special souvenir capturing their experience. The Philippine booth allowed visitors to connect with the warmth and hospitality of Filipino culture firsthand.

The booth also celebrated National Arts Month (NAM) 2025 by showcasing Philippine Art. Festival-goers were treated to videos that highlighted the diverse and flourishing Philippine art scene, offering them a chance to explore the artistic richness of Filipino culture.

In addition to cultural exhibits, the Embassy emphasized the importance of Filipino festivals, highlighting how these grand celebrations, like the Sinulog and Panagbenga Festivals, set the Philippines apart as a global destination.

The National Multicultural Festival is an annual three-day event in Canberra that brings together more than 170 multicultural communities to share their heritage through food, art, music, and performances. In 2024, the festival welcomed over 417,000 attendees, breaking previous records, and continues to be one of Canberra’s most anticipated cultural events.

The Philippine Embassy’s participation in the annual ASEAN Village at the NMF, alongside vibrant performances and displays from Filipino community groups, was a celebration of the Philippines’ rich traditions and a warm invitation for Australians to explore and experience the Philippines beyond its scenic landscapes. - END
