CANBERRA, Australia – Ambassador of the Philippines to Australia Ma. Hellen Barber De La Vega met Vanuatu High Commissioner Kalfau George Kaloris and expressed the interest of the Philippines to enhance its relations with the Pacific island state.

The Philippines is one of the top trading partners of Vanuatu and Ambassador De La Vega and High Commissioner Kaloris discussed the opportunities for further trade. The two diplomats also recalled the bilateral cooperation on education and High Commissioner Kaloris urged the Philippines to undertake more education initiatives with Vanuatu.
The Philippines and Vanuatu established diplomatic relations in 1986. Ambassador De La Vega serves as non-resident Ambassador-designate of the Republic of the Philippines to Vanuatu. END
