07 August 2023, PORT VILA – Philippine Honorary Consul General Florentino “Bong” Serrano participated in the 43rd Vanuatu Independence Day Celebration held at Vanuatu Independence Park, Port Vila on 30 July 2023.

Consul General Serrano met with Vanuatu President H.E. Mali Nikenike Vurobaravu Moliunavanua, Prime Minister Hon. Alatoi Ishmael Kalsakau Maau'koro, and members of Parliament, high-ranking government officials and the Diplomatic Corps during the Official Flag Raising Ceremony and the 43rd Presidential Independence State Cocktail. Consul General Serrano extended the Philippines' felicitations and congratulatory message to the President and Prime Minister during the celebration.

The Philippines and Vanuatu established diplomatic relations in 1986. There are more than 300 Filipinos residing in Vanuatu. On the occasion of Vanuatu’s National Day, the Philippines commits its continued cooperation with Vanuatu to advance shared goals of stability, security and prosperity in the region. -- End --
