15 August 2024, CANBERRA –The Philippine Embassy in Canberra joins the nationwide celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2024, under the theme "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya" (Filipino: A Language that Liberates).

To mark this important occasion, the Embassy has set up a special Buwan ng Wika corner at the Consular Section. The display features the official Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) poster, the provision on the National Language from the 1987 Philippine Constitution (Article XIV, Section 6), the KWF’s 75th Anniversary Commemorative Filipino Dictionary, and ten children's short storybooks written in both Filipino and English.

The Buwan ng Wika display will be available for viewing until 31 August 2024. We invite everyone to visit and celebrate the richness of the Filipino language and its role in empowering communities. -END
