Philippine Embassy Hosts ASEAN Family Day in Canberra

22 October 2024, CANBERRA – The Philippine Embassy in Canberra led the ASEAN Family Day celebration on 19 October 2024 at Lennox Gardens, bringing together the personnel and families of ASEAN Missions in the Australian Capital Territory to connect with one another, foster camaraderie and strengthen the bonds as one ASEAN family. The occasion was made even more special by the presence of ASEAN Heads of Mission and officials from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Each ASEAN Mission showcased their travel destinations, traditional games, arts, crafts, and delicious cuisine during the event. The Philippine Embassy introduced group games such as the Calamansi Relay (Philippine lime) that delighted attendees and added to the festive atmosphere and featured the chicken adobo and bistek (Filipino-style beef steak) in its booth which was enjoyed by the participants.

The ASEAN Family Day is an annual celebration that reflects a collective commitment to fostering cultural exchange, enhancing mutual understanding, and promoting unity among ASEAN Missions. - END
