Philippine Embassy and EnCOMPASS discuss aged care services available to ageing Filipinos in the ACT

16 March 2023 – Philippine Consul General in Canberra Mr. Aian Caringal met Mr. Qusai Mubaidin of EnCOMPASS Multicultural Aged Care Connector on 15 March 2023 to explore available services for Filipino elders in the ACT. Mr. Mubaidin made a presentation on My Aged Care Service, which is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Health and Aged Care.

EnCOMPASS is collaborating with the Department of Health and Aged Care to disseminate information on aged care services and how these may be accessed especially by elders with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background. Mr. Mubaidin said that EnCOMPASS is ready to connect with Filipino Community organizations in the ACT to assist elder members of the community to access the benefits that the My Aged Care Service provides free of charge.

Consul General Caringal informed Mr. Mubaidin of the continuing growth of the Filipino community in Australia and the importance of available services that will cater to the needs of elders in the community.
