H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Ambassador of the Philippines to Australia, met with Professor Tim Dunne, Deputy Provost; Professor Peter Mumby, Head of Marine Spatial Ecology Lab; Dr. Jacqui Romero, WestPac Fellow, School of Mathematics and Physics; Mr. Michael Holder, Manager for Sponsored Students, Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship; and, Ms. Alessia Anibaldi, International Development Manager, Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship, of the University of Queensland (UQ) on 01 June 2021 at the UQ campus and discussed the role of science in diplomacy and the movement of international students. In view of the individual experiences of the UQ delegation in research collaborations with the Philippines, the Ambassador and Professor Dunne explored areas for partnership between the Philippines and Australia in the post-pandemic environment.
