Adelaide – In support of its mandate to bring consular services closer to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Canberra deployed a consular team and extended services to almost 600 Filipino nationals in Adelaide, South Australia from 20-24 May 2019.
The Consular Mission was headed by Consul General Jim B. San Agustin and included Mr. Roderick B. Sierra and Ms. Rowena Ma. Carmen T. Sierra.
The Adelaide Mobile Mission team, with the support of the PH Honorary Consul Mr. Darryl Johnson, attended to 550 Philippine ePassport applicants and administered the oath of allegiance to 37 applicants who reacquired their Philippine citizenship under Republic Act No. 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act of 2003.
The Mobile Mission team also had the opportunity to meet and dialogue with Filipino Community leaders in Adelaide, including Ms. Carmen Garcia, President of the Filipino Communities Council of Australia (FILCCA).
