18 July 2025, CANBERRA – Ambassador Antonio Morales hosted a special recognition ceremony for Buglas Team Pilipinas (NIR XI Girls), celebrating their outstanding performance at the 2025 Kanga Cup held in Canberra on 14 to 18 July 2025.

The Buglas Filipinas U15s team played undefeated until the semifinals and took home the 1st runner-up medal in the tournament. The young Filipinas demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament, facing formidable opponents from across Australia and around the world.

"Making it all the way here to Australia to represent the Philippines is already an incredible achievement, but to come home with the 1st runner-up medal, after going head-to-head with bigger, taller, and more experienced teams, is truly remarkable," Ambassador Morales stated.

Buglas Team Pilipinas (NIR XI Girls) represents the Buglas Futbol Regional Association and consists of talented U15 female athletes from the Negros Island Region. The team's participation in the 2025 Kanga Cup marks a significant milestone in Philippine youth football development and international representation.

The Kanga Cup is the largest international youth football tournament in the Southern Hemisphere, held yearly in Canberra. Previous participating teams of the Kanga Cup have hailed from AU, US, UK, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Georgia, South Africa, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, East Timor, Fiji, and New Zealand. - END
