10 January 2025, SYDNEY – Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Antonio A. Morales engaged business representatives from San Miguel Yamamura Australasia (SMYA) on 06 January 2025 in Sydney. The delegation was led by Managing Director Rene Cabrera, who was the previous President of the Australia Philippines Business Council (APBC). The meeting centered on exploring business developments, market opportunities, and potential avenues to further enhance trade and economic cooperation between the Philippines and Australia.

Ambassador Morales underscored the commitment to supporting Filipino-led businesses overseas and highlighted SMYA’s success as a prime example of Filipino enterprise making a significant impact globally.

SMYA is a joint venture of San Miguel Corporation, one of the Philippines’ largest and most diversified conglomerates, and Nihon Yamamura Glass of Japan.
