MCS is one of the Philippines’ most promising choral groups and was founded in 1999 with the aim of showcasing the best of Filipino choral artistry to audiences all over the world.
Since then, the choir has travelled to several countries to participate in choral competitions and festivals. They were the first Asian choir to participate in the Sine Musica Nulla Vita International Choir Festival in Egeln, Germany in 2011. In 2012, the MCS had their first Canadian tour in British Columbia, and won First Prize in the Folk and and Cultural Traditions category, First Prize in the Contemporary Choral Music category and Second Prize in the Adult Mixed Choir category at the 15th International Choral Kathaumixw in Powell River.
