CANBERRA, Australia (22 January 2019) – H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia, joined the Philippine Cultural Society (PCS) as it led the celebration of the Annual Feast of Seňor Santo Niňo in Australia’s Capital City on 19 January 2020. A mass in honor of this festival was celebrated at St. Monica’s Church in Evatt, followed by a cultural program in Hall Pavilion.

In her remarks, the Ambassador acknowledged that the start of the year has brought many challenges to the Philippines and Australia and expressed appreciation for the generosity of the Filipino community in assisting those in need.

Filipinos in Australia join the rest of our kababayans all over the world in celebrating the Sinulog festival which has historically been a strong devotion and tradition in the Philippines. END
