Filipino Community Welcomes Announcement of Philippine Ambassador on Celebration of Philippines Australia Friendship Day in Adelaide in May 2020

H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia holds her first town hall meeting with the Filipino community leaders and students in South Australia on 28 October 2019 hosted by the Carnegie Mellon University Australia in Adelaide during the Ambassador’s Official Visit to South Australia.

31 October 2019 – H.E. Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega, Philippine Ambassador to Australia, met with the Filipino community leaders and Filipino students during her Official Visit to South Australia on 28 October 2019 at Carnegie Mellon University-Australia. This is Ambassador De La Vega’s first official engagement with Filipinos in South Australia. The event was organized by the Carnegie Mellon University Australia and Philippine Honorary Consul to South Australia Darryl Johnson

Ambassador De La Vega shared developments in the Philippines highlighting strong economic growth making the country the third best-performing economy in Asia in 2018. She encouraged the community to move in solidarity to raise the profile of the Filipino people in Australia and help forge a dynamic partnership between the Philippines and Australia.

Filipinos welcomed the announcement of the Philippine Ambassador that the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Honorary Consulate in South Australia will be holding the celebration of Philippines-Australia Friendship Day in Adelaide in May 2020 to show the important role of South Australia in enhancing the Philippines-Australia Comprehensive Partnership.
