27 February 2025, MANILA - Philippine Ambassador to Australia Antonio A. Morales met Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman J. Prospero E. De Vera III on 11 February 2025 to discuss ways to further enhance Philippine-Australian education partnerships.

Chairman De Vera and Ambassador Morales explored opportunities to strengthen institutional linkages, increase scholarship programs, and promote knowledge-sharing between Philippine and Australian universities.

Chairman De Vera previously led the Philippine Higher Education Mission to Australia on 21-25 October 2024 to strengthen existing and establish new partnerships with leading Australian universities on transnational education. The Mission implemented the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to boost the internationalization of Philippine higher education institutions to equip Filipino students and educators with global competencies and innovative learning opportunities.

Australia is a key education partner for the Philippines, and the Philippines is among the top five sources of international students in Australia. - END
