07 March 2023, CANBERRA - In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Office of Public and Cultural Diplomacy-Cultural Diplomacy Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO), invites everyone to an online symposium highlighting the status and her-story of women in multilateralism to be held on 10 March 2023 at 1:00pm (Philippine time) / 4:00pm (Canberra time).

The symposium is the kickoff program of “Legacies and Standpoints: Filipino Women in Multilateralism” and a tribute to the first lady senator of the Republic of the Philippines, Senator Geronima Tomelden-Pecson, an outstanding trailblazer who was instrumental in the creation of UNACOM and the first Filipina to be a member of the UNESCO Executive Board in 1950.
