24 March 2026, CANBERRA - Philippine Ambassador to Australia, H.E. Antonio Morales, met the five members of the 16th Delegation from the Philippines to the Australian Political Exchange on 24 March in Canberra. The delegates are traveling to Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney to observe Australia’s political processes, engage with counterparts and federal officials, and strengthen networks with fellow early-career political leaders.
The delegation from the Philippines was composed of the following:
- Hon Charisse Anne Hernandez, Congresswoman, Calamba City, Laguna
- Hon Nathalie Ann Formacion Debuque, Vice Governor of Iloilo
- Hon Aries Vincent Patrick Lim, Mayor of Nueva Ecija
- Hon Sheina Onrubia-Dela Cruz, Board Member, Province of Albay
- Hon Lorenzo Francisco Tañada-Yam, Councilor, City of San Juan
Ambassador Morales highlighted the strong and enduring Strategic Partnership between the Philippines and Australia, as well as the celebration of the 80th anniversary of relations this 2026. The Philippines and Australia share a commitment to democracy, equality, and civic engagement.
The program was organized by the Australian Political Exchange Council. The Philippines also hosts delegates from Australia participating in a political exchange program. - END
