2 November 2025, CANBERRA – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Antonio A. Morales led the Philippine Embassy in participating in the Canberra Times Fun Run on Sunday, joining thousands of runners in support of around 200 charitable organizations across Australia.
The event successfully raised contributions for charities dedicated to causes, such as Health, Medical Research, Environment and Conservation, and Animal Welfare. Representing the Philippine Embassy in the Fun Run were Mr. Jessie B. Lucas, Mr. Jeffrey de Mesa, Mr. Ronnel Lasacar. Also in attendance were Migrant Workers Office Labor Attaché Ms. Melissa C. Mendizabal, Mr. Oscar Anthony C. David, Ms. Julienne L. Cavida, and MSG Rochelle C. Catungal of the Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché.
Ambassador Morales, after completing the half marathon category, shared his reflections on the event “This event shows Australia’s strong sense of community and shared commitment to helping others.” He also emphasized the importance of cardiovascular health, noting that heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the Philippines. He shared that regular physical activity, such as running, can contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
The Philippine Embassy stands with the Australian community in actively engaging in activities that create positive impact, and promote a healthier lifestyle. – END –
