12 December 2024, CANBERRA – Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Antonio A. Morales welcomed Minister for Tourism and Multicultural Affairs of South Australia Hon Zoe Bettison MP to the Philippine Embassy in Canberra on 05 December 2024.

Ambassador Morales and Minister Bettison discussed the dynamic presence of the more than 15,000 Filipinos in South Australia and their contributions to the country. The Philippines is in the top 10 source countries for international students in South Australia.

They also discussed opportunities for advancing economic cooperation between the Philippines and South Australia. Minister Bettison recalled her participation in the business mission to Subic, Clark, Manila and Bataan in 2022, noting that her main takeaway was the friendliness of the Filipino community and their eagerness to collaborate.

Ambassador Morales expressed commitment to growing the two-way trade, investment and tourism opportunities under the bilateral Strategic Partnership and further encouraged businesses in South Australia to seize opportunities in the Philippines. -- END
