05 August 2022, CANBERRA – Philippine Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega met Mr. Steve Georganas MP, Member for Adelaide, at Parliament House in Canberra on 04 August 2022. The Ambassador thanked Mr. Georganas for his support for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Philippines-Australia relations in 2021. Mr. Georganas was a member of the Australia/Philippines Parliamentary Group in the 46th Parliament. He also spoke on the floor in support of the motion to recognize that 2021 marks 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries introduced by the Honorable Ed Husic MP in November 2021, now Minister for Industry and Science.

Mr. Georganas talked about the hardworking and vibrant Filipino community in his electorate. He said it is important for the Philippines and Australia to continue enhancing people to people connections and two-way trade. -- END
