05 October 2023, SYDNEY – Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Ma. Hellen De La Vega joined the Filipino Community in New South Wales in the official opening of the 33rd Grand Fiesta Kultura on 01 October 2023 in Fairfield NSW.

In her message, Ambassador De La Vega encouraged all Filipino Australians to further pursue initiatives that will strengthen and uplift the community. She mentioned that the relations between the Philippines and Australia has entered into a new level after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Prime Minister Albanese signed the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership in September 2023.

Hon. Peter Dutton MP, Leader of Opposition, commended the organizers and volunteers of the event and described the festival’s theme, “Harmony in Diversity,” as a core element of Australia’s migration and multicultural success story.

The 33rd Grand Fiesta Kultura is one of the most anticipated Filipino cultural events in NSW. It is held annually during the Labor Day celebration of NSW (02 October) at the Fairfield Ground and organized by the Philippine Australian Sport and Culture Inc. Filipino cuisine, products and artistry were in full display during the fiesta. -END-
