PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR TO AUSTRALIA SHARES ACHIEVEMENTS IN PHILIPPINES-AUSTRALIA RELATIONS AND PHILIPPINE FOREIGN POLICY IN BRISBANE

Ambassador Calaguian-Cruz shared the achievements of Philippines-Australia relations following 70 Years of Diplomatic Relations celebrated this year. She emphasized the deep and historic people-to-people linkages between the Philippines and Australia. She said both countries recognize that our people-to-people linkages started much earlier than formal relations when Filipino seafarers arrived in the Northern Territory (Darwin), Queensland (Torres Strait) and Western Australia (Broome) in the 1860s to join the pearl rush as divers and processors.   Read more:
